Federico Gentile was born in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, a small town in Sicily on June 4th 1984.The passion for electronic music explodes at 15. He begins to mix samples and breaks of several genres, from house to trip hop, from ambient to techno, from electro to chill out; among all sounds, emerges in him an interest to jungle and drum'n'bass.
After various experiences as bassist in a rock band of that place, which lasted about three years, he plunges back into the world of electronic music as a DJ and producer.
His passion now goes by the breakbeat jungle, passing by the big beat / funky breaks to electro. So was born Ryko the drummaker, suburban boy who with his violent rhythms, attempts to break the monotony of Sicilian music scene, dominated by commercial music charts, offering different sounds and rhythms.
In early 2007, he wins a contest sponsored by Qoob.tv. Ryko wins as best remixer in key funky breaks of the song "Eighteen" by Forward Russia.
In July 2007 his mix is posted on Breaks.it, the most important Italian site for breakbeat.
In January 2008, with his track "Claustrophonic", wins the first edition of Electrobreaks Assault Competition, local contest reserved to emerging breakbeat's producer.
Is in April 2008 its first appearance in radio with his dj-set MI-To Breaks, broadcast by the English Brap.fm.
During 2009, his sound is enriched: brand new productions fidget-house style, although his interest was already starting in 2008. The love for this new genre, keep to expand himself on the web and on various radio industry both Italian and foreign.
In 2009 arrived the first confirmations joining independent labels like Italian Killa Tunes Records and FU.NCH.
